They are *My* Servants

Leviticus 25:55
For unto me the children of Israel [are] servants; they [are] my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I [am] the LORD your God.

The Lord said, "unto me the children of Israel [are] servants..." He said, "...they [are] my servants...".

We shouldn't be so caught up in the rigor of our work that we don't serve the Lord. The work we do to make a living shouldn't take so much time and so many years that we're bound to others instead of free to be the Lord's servants.

Mary and Zacharias

Here are 2 great parts of the Bible to praise the Lord.

Luke 1:46-55
Mary's Soul Magnifies the Lord
Luke 1:67-79
Zacharias Prophesied

He Sends Forth 2

Mark 11:1,2

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring [him].
Before Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a colt, He sent a couple disciples to get it. It doesn't say "He sends forth 1 of His disciples." It says, "...He sends forth 2 of His disciples..."

Mark 14:13

And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
When they prepared for Jesus to eat the passover, He sent a couple disciples to make everything ready. Once again, it could have said, "He sends forth 1 of His disciples," but instead, it says, "He sends forth 2 of His disciples."

Matthew 18:16

But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Matthew 18:19,20
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Luke 10:1
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

One thing I believe is that there should be more than 1 supervisor and servant in our meetings.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm [alone]? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Whoever Curses his God Will Bear his Sin

Leviticus 24:14
Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard [him] lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
It's really serious that we shouldn't curse. Don't think that it's no big deal to let curse words out of your mouth- I think we shouldn't even say little things that are like curse words. Death by stoning for blaspheming and cursing. Yikes.

You Shall be Holy

Leviticus 20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD [am] holy, and have severed you from [other] people, that ye should be mine.

Defile Not Yourselves

Leviticus 18:30
Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that [ye] commit not [any one] of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I [am] the LORD your God.

God says, "defile not yourselves," which means, don't make yourselves dirty. This what keeping the law ("ordinance,") was for. People have habits of doing very bad things God hates ("abominable customs".) Committing any 1 of those abominable customs would make you dirty. The Lord gave the Jews the old law to keep so they wouldn't do those things.

Today the Lord has given His Spirit to His believers. Faith (really thinking that Jesus is True,) takes action in us by Love. That means that we don't do anything that's bad for other people, but do all the good we can for everyone, especially for the brethren. This is the new law.

What abominable custom is the Lord speaking to you about at this moment? What habit are you doing that's so bad that the Lord and others hate it very much? Why make yourself filthy with a thing that the heathen do? Defile not yourselves.
