peace and patience

Romans 5

v1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

My experience has been that if we don't have peace with God, that's often because we need to repent and apologize for sin we have done. Maybe we're distracted by our troubles and using other people's sin as an excuse to not repent from our own. In that case, we need to repent.

v3

And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

As you read this, do you feel like you have many troubles? When we have trouble, we need to be patient, believe the Lord, and hope in Him.

From: Count Your Blessings

By Johnson Oatman, Jr., 1897 and Edwin Excell
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
