And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee [as] my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, [but] their heart goeth after their covetousness.
I go to a lot of Bible studies. I come, and sit down, and hear the Lord's Word like one of His people. But where is my heart?
It's good to come and listen to the Lord's Word. But I should determine to do something about the Lord's Word when I hear it.
When we go to a Bible study, we should take note of at least one practical thing we can do about what we learn there. Then we should look at that note before the next Bible study in that series, and remind ourselves to do something about it.
I like to mark one part of my notes from the meeting by drawing a star by it, so I can look back at my notes later, and quickly see where I put down a star, so I can see whether I've been doing what I was determined to.
