standing against idolatry

Daniel 3

v28

[Then] Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed [be] the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

It talks about "the God... who... yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God." There are different ways that we could yield our bodies to serve other things besides God.

v5

[That] at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

There was this huge show with a huge golden image and "all kinds of music" with all kinds of instruments. That idolatry made me think of videos and surfing the web. I think both are good tools that we should use for fun other purposes, but they become idolatry when they get in the way of us serving and worshiping God.

I'm going to work on cutting down the amount of time I spend on things like that. That way I can be serving the Lord instead of wasting time.
