Genesis 38 - Key

v11

Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father's house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren [did]. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father's house.

What I see again and again in this chapter is people's selfishness, Judah's and Onan's. It was a lack of care about other people, just wanting what would be good for themselves. We shouldn't be selfish like that.

Application

Hebrews 11:25
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

In order to not be selfish like Judah and Onan were, I'll work on creating and implementing a specific "battle plan" against the sins which so easily beset me.
