It was at the place of the altar that Abram called on the Lord.
v15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
We should call on the Lord when we're in trouble, and we can be encouraged that He does have a great reward for us.
Application
There are certain discouraging situations in my life right now that seem hopeless or insurmountable, but I'll call on the Lord about them and believe that I can have hope in Him.
