what it means to be saved by grace

Romans 11

v6

And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

This verse means that salvation is by grace, not by works. That means that being saved from our sins is an undeserved gift. We can't be saved by things that we do. It's a great idea to do good things, but the only thing we can do to be saved from our sins is to accept the gift of God by believing in Jesus, in our hearts.
