Colossians 4 - Key

v12,13a

Epaphras, who is [one] of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you...

It is easy to have all kinds of zeal for other people, for example, to be friends, to have relationships, to have fun, or, as a business person, to get them as customers. This passage teaches us that the servant of Christ has great zeal for the Colossians' spiritual state. We should have a zeal for other people, that we would pray fervently for them, that they would stand established, and be mature, and be completely in God's will.

Application

In my prayer times this week, I'll pray more zealously for the spiritual state of my friends.
