Sometimes my response to that desire is to separate myself from people or "lay low" until the battle blows over. But I've been thinking lately about, "blessed are the peacemakers." If there's anything we can do to promote peace in our immediate relationships, we need to have the courage to take those steps even though sometimes it can be difficult.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10839948.post-72435292664588657592012-11-28T11:33:18.914-06:002012-11-28T11:33:18.914-06:00I never thought of it in terms of taking time to p...I never thought of it in terms of taking time to pray. I always thought of it in terms of, "make sure you have all your ducks in a row," but that's not what it says. "Watch and pray." Or course there is also that "take heed" in there, but the "watch a pray" part is what I need more of these days.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10839948.post-6886049248930844252012-11-05T13:08:36.081-06:002012-11-05T13:08:36.081-06:00I think I was about 8 years old when I read verse ...I think I was about 8 years old when I read verse 6... I took it pretty literally and also was very rigid about it - I went around for days thinking that every time I prayed I had to do it "out loud"... this led to quite a bit of muttering as I went about my day-to-day for a few days. Obviously the idea of the "voice" of my supplication can be taken way overboard, but I think we tend to swing too far the other way - praying silently more often than we should. There about speaking out loud that makes it distinct from praying silently - I think there are times when the Lord calls us to pray this way and when we don't obey, it can lead to ineffective prayers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10839948.post-74631584331270567622012-06-14T10:32:58.603-05:002012-06-14T10:32:58.603-05:00I really like your bible outlines, I'm using v...I really like your bible outlines, I'm using various outlines I've found online to make summaries of chapters in the bible.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10839948.post-48904705684502882002011-12-20T11:33:49.178-06:002011-12-20T11:33:49.178-06:00Interesting application. Just like, if I eat lunch in a few minutes here, that's my choice. It isn't really completely necessary for me to eat lunch; I wouldn't starve if I skipped it today. But I will necessarily eat lunch, only because I choose to do so.

It is sort of inevitable that, in all probability, we'll still choose to sin some time: But we're not enslaved to it, and every time, it will be entirely our own responsibility. So the difference is, that now, being made free from the slavery of sin, we have everything we need to choose to not do those things.Isaac Serafinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15569256800894962385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10839948.post-2313333360460828432010-03-01T11:22:48.129-06:002010-03-01T11:22:48.129-06:00I remember talking about this with you before. I asked you what the balance is between knowing that we WILL NECESSARILY make mistakes and knowing that it isn't NECESSARY TO make mistakes, and I really liked your answer but I don't remember what it was.
