Goodness to His Servant

And now, O Lord GOD, thou [art] that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
The Lord does promise good things to His servants. He does that with His Word.

The Lord Will Repay

There's a warning from 2 Samuel 3:39b.
...the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

Clear Direction

2 Samuel 2:1
And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.
The Lord can clearly direct.

Free Indeed

In John 8:31 and 32, Jesus taught about true liberty. He taught that if you continue in His Word, then you're really His true disciples, indeed. Then you'll know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

What did He mean, the truth will make you free? You haven't ever been a slave, right? Well, if you sin, that's just like you become the slave of sin. Because even if you know better, you end up sinning again. You might think, "How did I get to be sinning again? I didn't want to do this sin." But you can't get free.

That's where the Word of God comes in. If you want real freedom, you have to keep on listening to the Bible, and following what it says.

The Valiant Men Arose

1 Samuel 31:12 says, "All the valiant men arose..."

We should be valiant.

Be an Example

Listen to 1 Timothy 4:12.

This is how to be an example.

  1. This is For Young People

Let no man despise thy youth...
Even little children can be examples.
  2. Have Faith

...but be thou an example of the believers...
Before you're an example, you need to be a believer. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.
  3. Talk Purely

    ...in word...
We should be talking about the Lord.
    ...in purity.
We shouldn't talk about dirty things.

    Don't tell impure jokes.

  4. Act Right

    ...in conversation...
We should stop doing bad things, when our parents tell us to.
  5. Be Kind

    ...in charity...
We should Love our brothers and sisters.

We should do kind things for other people at the meetings.

Be an example.

Being Faultless

1 Samuel 29:3
...I have found no fault in him since he fell [unto me] unto this day...
A ruler of "the Philistines" was talking about David.

...Surely, [as] the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host [is] good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day...
David can make us think about the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is always the good and upright one without any evil.

...But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day...
David had confidence that no fault could be found in him. Do you have the same kind of clean conscience?

...I know that thou [art] good in my sight, as an angel of God...
Like no fault could be found in David, there was no fault in Jesus. We should take this example, and there should be no fault in us.
