Genesis 13 - Key
v4
Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.
It was at the place of the altar that Abram called on the Lord.
v15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
We should call on the Lord when we're in trouble, and we can be encouraged that He does have a great reward for us.
Application
There are certain discouraging situations in my life right now that seem hopeless or insurmountable, but I'll call on the Lord about them and believe that I can have hope in Him.

Genesis 42 - Key
v22
And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.
When we're tempted to do something wrong, and our conscience warns us not to do it, and that it would be sin, then we should realize the consequences and listen to our conscience.
Application
When I'm about to waste time on something like surfing the web or watching a video, and my conscience warns me that it would be wrong, I'll remember that there will be a real consequence, and I'll listen.

prayer was made without ceasing
v5
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
We shouldn't quit praying for people. The Lord's people prayed for Peter, without stopping, and the Lord worked a miracle to deliver him. When we keep praying for people who are in trouble, without stopping, who knows what kind of miracles the Lord might work for us, to deliver us?

with purpose of heart, cleave to the Lord
v23
Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
The rest of this week, let's have determination to stick to the Lord, by keeping ourselves from doing things we know are wrong, and by taking opportunities to do what's right and good.
