return good for evil

Matthew 5

v44

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

This verse is a good reminder to forgive people and treat them well even if they cause me inconvenience.

  1. How about an even greater challenge? Treat people well *because* they inconvenience us! I know it sounds crazy. But I think this passage is maybe about people we wouldn't otherwise go out of our way to "bless." The fact that they "inconvenience" us should call our attention to the fact that this is someone in our lives whom we have an opportunity to do good to. I need to start trying to think like this more!
