1 Corinthians 14 - Key

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

First of all, it could have been good that they were zealous of spiritual things, but it seems like they were zealous of the wrong spiritual things... or they were zealous in the wrong way. Are we even zealous of spiritual gifts, at all, today?

We should zealously desire to exercise our love for the Lord's people, to serve and edify the Church with the opportunities and abilities that Christ gives us by His Spirit.

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men [to] edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

I'll put aside some time on Saturday afternoons to be prepared to share edifying messages with the Lord's people.
