And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, [saying], What [city is] like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?
Tyrus was a great city in many ways, but even a great place can have a terrible destruction because of sin. We should be ready for our world to be judged.
1 Cor 15:19
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
As we see any illusion of hope we have in this world slipping away, that should provoke us to be more zealous for the Lord.
