the Lord used sleeplessness to convict the King that he had not rewarded Mordecai for saving his life and the kingdom
the Lord turned Haman's endeavors to do evil to Mordecai, into good
Haman's arrogant presumption
Haman made a fool of himself, and only succeeded in accomplishing the opposite of what he intended
Haman started to find out that his splendid idea wasn't going to work
