Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that].
I've noticed that once I've done something wrong in the first place, like spoken to other people in a bad way, just apologizing for it afterward just isn't as good as not having done it in the first place.
I was just saying to someone the other day, You guys really seem to notice when I slip up, but not notice quite so much when I apologize for it.
But that's not their fault. That's just the way things are naturally.
I'm still all for apologizing and doing our best to repent when we've sinned, but it would be so much better and save so much regret and everything if we just did what was right in the first place.
