rejoicing of the hope

Hebrews 3

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

What was it about the heart in such a person that made it an evil heart? It was a heart of unbelief...

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

The Lord doesn't want us going around thinking, Oh brother, now I have to do this great thing, that is hard work, to serve the Lord. It probably won't work or get me anywhere. Faith is about having confidence, and the Lord wants us to have joy and hope.

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

When we serve the Lord, instead of sinning through unbelief, we should let ourselves rejoice in confidence for our hope in Him.
