Amos 7

v16 & 17

Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not [thy word] against the house of Isaac.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

The person in these verses was going to have a terrible judgment for telling Amos not to prophesy where the Lord sent him.

If someone wants to bring a message to me, I shouldn't tell them not to say it. Even if it sounds cruel, if it's a Word from the Lord, I should receive it.

Proverbs 13:1

A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
