paying the fare of sin

Jonah 1

v3

But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

I noticed it said, "he paid the fare." We don't accidentally turn from the Lord. There's a cost of sin, sometimes up front.

We shouldn't be pay the fare to turn from Him.

One cost of sin could be time. Money is another, obviously. Sin is often a thing that ends up taking up a lot of time and a lot of money.

I'm just going to keep trying to redeem the time, like I've been talking about a lot lately.
